Runner-up Gerwyn Price, who remains without a major title since the 2022 World Series Finals in Amsterdam:"I don't want to win a major, do I?!" Luke played brilliantly in the middle part of the game but I still squandered opportunities to put him under pressure, too many opportunities." It was a fantastic game and it was whoever took their opportunities. I missed quite a few at crucial times."

I am gutted to lose another major final but I will get over it. I am bothered."

More from Luke Humphries, speaking to Sky Sports:"This is really special, getting that barren major run off my back."I think the biggest shot of my career was the 180, 105 outshot in the fourth set as if Gezzy goes 4-0 up it's game over."Then at 3-1, I relaxed."

More from Luke Humphries, speaking to Sky Sports:"Gezzy was amazing, absolutely insane for the first three legs and he will win another major title soon." It is written in the stars. He can't play like that and not win. Maybe he will win the Worlds or a big one." He played his part in an amazing final and he was the best player tonight - but sometimes the player who should win doesn't."

Here is champion Luke Humphries, referencing the scar on his head..." Harry Potter did well, didn't he?!" I needed this to give me some confidence as it has been a horrid 15-18 months losing so many major finals." I have to be honest - I felt I didn't have much to give tonight and there was a moment in the game where I thought, 'I don't want to lose 6-0'." Suddenly I was 3-3 and then 4-3 up and I had a chance."

A ninth major PDC title for Luke Humphries and a first since the 2025 Premier League. On this evidence, there will be oodles more to follow,

Mind-bending! A second title in this event for Luke Humphries, after beating Price in 2023, and one you would have got huge odds on after he found himself 3-0 down this evening! A staggering comeback from Cool Hand with this win wrapped up via an 11-darter as he sinks a 10th 180, equalling Price's tally, before pinning D8 for a finish of 76 after a pinpoint T20. What have we just seen?

Cool Hand breaks and is throwing for the match!Price, really under the pump now, begins with a 160 and then stands over a 144 finish for the leg.He sets up instead with Humphries on 204 but it is a cruddy set-up as he is left with 92 and when he misses two arrows at D16 Humphries goes bullseye and double 16 for an 82,

Humphries has the darts in this set and gets off to a slick start, aided by Price taking until his second visit to crash in the mandatory double.Humphries has 117 for the leg but drags his effort at tops below the target before hitting D10 at the second time of asking.

Sky Sports Darts' John Part:"It has been absolutely fantastic darts that gets your head spinning a bit." We had Gezzy up 3-0, much like in his semi-final, and then we had Luke come back with four straight sets." It's down to the moments and I think the two huge moments are that deciding leg from Humphries, then him taking out 105 - with Price on tops - to avoid going 4-0 down earlier."

That was the real turning point. Humphries is just showing that little extra bit."

Sky Sports Darts' Dan Dawson: "That was utterly brilliant from Humphries and he knows it! "Price gave it some when he took control of that set, only to let it slip away."Set darts missed for a 5-4 lead and it's now Humphries who is one set away from claiming the title."
