Sky Sports' betting expert Lewis Jones: There is a strong case for keeping things simple and taking the biggest price of the three outcomes. Backing Premier League draws has been a profitable strategy across the last two seasons, returning a very tidy +46 points to £1 level stakes.
Of course, past profits do not guarantee future returns but it is a useful reminder that the draw is often overlooked by punters that gravitate towards picking a winner. Leeds are an especially interesting team to focus on. They have drawn eight of their last 16 Premier League games. That is a significant enough pattern to take seriously when assessing a price of 21/10 with Sky Bet for the draw.

Sunderland boss Regis Le Bris praised Leeds’ solid start to the season ahead of their Premier League match on Sunday. The Black Cats were in Europa League action on Thursday – drawing 1-1 against Lech Poznan in Poland – but enter this weekend’s round of domestic fixtures bottom of the table following last Sunday’s 2-0 loss to Bournemouth.
By contrast, Leeds have only lost one of their Premier League games so far and are in the top half after seven games. Speaking about Sunday’s opponents, Le Bris said: “Leeds are always a good side, it was in the Championship and now in the Premier League. “They are doing really well, they are consistent as well.
They built momentum early in the season, which is always good, so they are in a different position but anything is possible in football. We think that it is going to be a new opportunity to get better.” Thursday’s Europa League outing saw midfielder Jules Ahoka put in another impressive display on his third competitive start since joining from Royal Antwerp over the summer.
The 20-year-old was also in the starting XI against Torreense last week before featuring from the bench against Bournemouth and Le Bris believes European football can help his development. The Sunderland boss added: “His potential is huge but he needs time, experience, support to get better. [The Europa League] is perfect for that.”
Daniel Farke has been dealt a blow before Sunday’s Premier League game at Sunderland after revealing Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Anton Stach and Noah Okafor are all major injury doubts. Calvert-Lewin - whose fourth league goal of the season earned Leeds a 1-1 home draw against Manchester United last week - and Stach both sustained foot injuries in that match.
Okafor is struggling with a thigh strain and all three players are rated “major doubts” after missing out on team training this week. Farke said: “If the game would be today, all three wouldn’t be available. They’ve missed training sessions, many training sessions during this week. “Good news is that we still have two days, and we’ll try of course to make them available.
The question mark will be first, who of them will be available? Then also for how many minutes? We’ll have to assess them and we’ll need to take some late decisions.” Farke confirmed Daniel James is in restraint after recovering from his recent injury, while Lukas Nmecha, Harry Wilson and Jean-Matteo Bahoya will also be hoping to feature.
Nmecha has made six league appearances off the bench this season and Farke added: “Overall you have to say for a back-up striker, Lukas has scored I think seven goals last season. “Of course, if he doesn’t play each and every minute due to the fact that Dominic was so outstanding, I think this is a really good record and I would have to say in the last game he looked sharp.”
Hello and welcome to Sky Sports' digital coverage of Sunderland vs Leeds! Regis Le Bris' side have endured a tough start to the season and currently sit at the bottom of the table with just four points from their opening seven games. They have lost their last four games in the Premier League but will be hoping to snap that streak in front of their home crowd today.
Meanwhile, Leeds can move into the top six with a win on the road. Stay tuned for team news, live updates, free in-game clips and match highlights shortly after full-time.
